Two days ago, the pulley on the Alternator belt seized. Next day (after work) I tried to find the part, was discontinued from ford, and unexistant at every auto parts places. I even tried to buy a new bearing at GMS (local bearing seller) and he said that exact number of bearings were illegal to be sold to customers, Only ford can buy them. crap!
And don't tell me to look in junkyards, there is absolutly NO SHOs in those places.

For now I cleaned up the bearing pretty well and regreased it, its running but making some noises, so I don't think it will hold up pretty long.
Any suggestions ?

I just had the rear tensioner pulley replaced (power steering & water pump) I got lucky and found it on E-bay! Took it to the shop a week or so later, the guy was kind iffy about putting used parts on. He only uses new parts from Napa. He said the one I got on E-bay was no good (becuase it made the tinyiest bit of noise when he spun it) and was going to put a new one on. Surprise, surprise, he couldn't find a new one. So he ended up putting on the used one I bought on E-bay, along with 2 new belts (the old seized up pulley destroyed the belt!!) I'd check E-bay ever now and then, just for the **** of it, anywho, good luck!!:thumb:

The idler pulley for the MTX is a well-discussed issue. The pullies are still available from Ford but are quite expensive.

As noted, Josh at SHOnut can provide a replacement bearing for about $40. It still has to be pressed into the old pulley.

The idler pulley is NOT available from ANY aftermarket vendor.

Cerebrus, do you still have one of those ?
I need one asap. I cleaned up the bearing pretty well, its running, but making lots of noises. And since its my DD I can't afford to be stopped waiting for parts to come in mail.

Maybe in a range of 1 to 3 weeks , im doing the 3.2 mtw swap with the white 94

The 3.0 is sitting at my friends...Ill have to look for it ...

Idler or Tensioner? If its really the Idler (near alternator), im keeping it for the 3.2 (its shot)

If its the tensioner ill have to look.

idler pullys from V8 SHOs work just fine, if you can find those ;)

Ford dealer. F3DZ-6B217-B last time I checked a couple of years ago. The 3.4L pullys are available.

For the 3.0, check part numbers E9DZ-6B217-A and -B for availability and pricing. Don't recall which is for the 4 or the 6 ribbed belt, but there's the possible numbers.

if you still need one, call doug at FPS. He still had some new ones left (4 and 6 rib) when I got mine last month.

I'll order a new bearing from SHONUT since the pulley isn't damaged, but the bearing's noisy now, ready to seize again.

thanks all!
