Have been putting off replacing my TC for several years now. I have had the car for just over 10 years now and for the last several years it has had a shudder under light throttle and normal acceleration. More noticeable under light/regular throttle going up hill. Have flushed the fluid several times and added a friction modifier to where it did help for a little bit but came back soon after.

My neighbor is a parts manager at one of the local ford dealerships. I asked him to price me out a new torque converter and he informed me that they do not carry it anymore.
After looking for one myself the only place I can seem to find one is through auto parts stores, Autozone, Rock Auto etc.
I believe I have a 4 bolt torque converter as it is a 2010. Is there somewhere I can purchase a reputable torque converter for this?

Hmm not sure how I didn't notice this but I suppose this should have been posted in the Maintenance sub section. Mod can move it if he/she would prefer that.

This should be available from Ford. Application shows 2010 MKS only however, it fits all SHO from 2013 forward. It probably requires a new flexplate, 4 bolt to 3 bolt or vice versa.

Fits these and many more.

I've been experiencing a similar issue. Took it to a transmission shop and their scanner showed that in my case, the torque converter is locking up properly.
You might want to do that before buying it.
