:omg: I know I'll get drilled on this one, but can I get away with using just the RTV for the plug well seals? I just need it to hold up for a couple of months before I sell the 175,000miles & still strong SHO :omg:! Some time ago I bought my vcg's from Ford which doesn't come with the six well seals. I don't want to buy the Felpro set of vcg's all over again if I can avoid it. I mean, that car has 100,000 of Chicago city driving in only 4 years :nut:  , seriously! And, I have all the suspension-type repairs receipts to prove it! :bonk:

Thanks!!!!!!

Dont tell anybody, but my daily driver still has factory installed oil pan seals, valve cover seals, and plug well seals.

I do not use RTV though. I use a product made by Permatex called "the right stuff". Info HERE

Just do not go overboard, and you will be fine.

And again, dont tell anybody

A lotta people do it, so do whatever you have to do. Just don't over-do it, a thin coat on each seal is all that's needed.

FWIW, reading this thread on the forum, if I was shopping for a car knowing that the plug tube seals wree RTV'd, I might be less inclined to buy the car, or at least offer less money in consideration of what it will cost to replace the seals.

Yeah, I know! :thumb: But which forum member would buy a 175,000miles SHO with mostly stop & go city hustling & bustling driven miles on it!? But don't tell anyone that! I already know who I'm going to target in the market for my SHO if it last long enough to sell! :laugh_ti:

Oh yeah, that stuff! Any locals carry this? Or do I have to order off some website? Thanks!
