I HAD A LITTLE PROBLEM WITH MINES IT WAS A LITTLE SLUGGISH IN FIRST, IF I WAS TO PULL OFF NORMALLY, AND IT TOOK ALL DAY GETTING TO 130 MPH, ALOT SLOWER THAN MY 94 ATX I HAD. I TOOK OF THE CONVERTERS AN ADDED A K/N CONE AIRFILTER. IT IS A LOT BETTER IN ACCELERATION, AND IN POWER, BUT IT STILL TAKES ALL DAY GETTING TO 130 MPH, I DROVE MY FRIENDS 89 SHO AND IT BURIED 140. I HAVE NO MORE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON, WELL AT FIRST THE COMPUTER SAID O 2 SENSOR, I REPLACED IT. CAN SOME ONE TELL ME IF THE CLUTCH IS GOING WHEN IT ALWAYS GRIND WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, AND SOME TIMES WHEN I PUT IT IN SECOND, AND I THINK I NEED VALVE SEALS CAUSE IT SMOKES BLUE SOMETIMES. SOME BODY HELP ME PLEASE! RESPOND ON HERE , [email protected] , OR MY CELL 3139426925

How about "Put somehing in the title that relates to the problem or question"..

Titles like this usually get ignored ...

Are you asking why you ATX is slower than an 89. Everyone knows Gen. 1's are the fastest SHO's. :D Welcome to the forum and don't use caps. No one likes that. Also, be more direct with you ?'s and you will get more responses.

LOL - great pic!

He's saying it is slower than his 94 ATX. How are you measuring this - I hope not by looking at the speedo. They are notoriously innaccurate when the speeds get high. Saying your 94 could go this speed, and your MTX takes forever - well - maybe you are going as fast but you'll either have to pace it with another car, use a GPS to confirm speed (also innacurrate but better), or use a radar. Gauging top speed with a stock, uncertified speedometer is not going to be reliable or accurate from car to car.

As for the reverse grind, that is normal. The way to get around it is to go to 4th then to reverse.
Were your cats clogged? Could you possibly still have some sort of restriction elsewhere in the exhaust?
BTW, welcome to the forum! Don't take these guys too personal... :D
this is the place to be to learn more about ANYTHING pertaining to the sho! thumb
