SHO U UP
SHO Guru
Hey guys,
Here's a little update on my SHO that I've been working on. Getting it cleaned, inside and out, and playing musical vehicles with all my vehicles. And good gawd how the 2010 towers my lowered '97.
Anyway, I'm readying to head down to NC for a little SHO meet with the guys and gals from the Tidewater area, and this is what I've been fooling with. Brakes. I see another fellow SHO owner also did a similar thing to his stock set up painting them white. His looks awesome! I'm not a fan of white, but to each their own. Kudos to him for modding the SHO no matter how its done. My goal was to bring my boss' 2009 GT500 home one weekend and attempt to slap on his Brembo brakes on the front and see what is needed exactly and let everyone know. Lo and behold, he sold the d$%n thing this past week and no longer has it. Well, the next best thing to try was my 13" Cobra brakes I had laying around here for my '97. I know folks complain about how the stock brakes feel weak and all, but they are 12 3/4 in diameter!! I'm sure the 2010 outweighs the Gen 3 by a little bit, but the 13" Cobra brakes on the older Gens helped stopping tremendously! What gives on that aspect when compared to the 2010s?? And the caliper bracket didn't fit either from the Cobra set up. I left my measurements in the garage for tonight but I have specs in mm to show everything. The hub (centric) ring on the Cobras were larger in diameter than the 2010 so the rotor was wobbly. The 2010 also has a torx bit set screw to secure the rotor to the hub assembly. Here are some pics of the progression thus far. I went with the caliper brackets powdwercoated gloss black and the calipers themselves red. The prep work was the most time consuming as always. I'll post the finished product tomorrow night once I download my camera pics. (these were from my cell phone) Let me know what you guys think.

I read your other posts bud. I saw the responses you received. I actually had it not on the arm, but on the subframe area. Hard to tell in the pic. I wouldn't trust those arms either. I also had two other jacks at the "jacking" points on the side for safety.
