Do I need a deep socket or no (for the 30 mm nut)? I read it needs to be non impact.
Also, do I have to remove the entire oil cooler assembly from the car to replace the o ring?

Autozone Socket

I think I used a 30mm socket from Auto Zone. Leave the top part of the cooler attached to the block, because it takes a lot of force to brake the 30mm nut free. I think you will need to remove the coolant line so you can get the bottom part of the cooler out to clean it. When you put it back together you need to align it properly, I think there are two tabs. Also as you tourque it down, it is easy to bend the tabs.

thank you. How much oil was leaking under your car from the oil cooler? There is a lot of wet oil spots in my under carrriage (oil pan, trans. pan, oil filter, starter) ...

Basically depending on how long it's been leaking will answer that. Of course, momentum and gravity will force the oil to the spots you have mentioned once the oil cooler has began to leak. I've replaced four in the past and there was not a major leak on the ground from any of them. But it didn't take long to self-**** the undercarriage from it leaking. Very easy fix but don't get an antifreeze rain shower. Drain the coolant before tackling this job. Good luck with it. ****....
