wow this has turned into a mess lol. It has not acted up but that 1 time. the motor was just put in the car about 30 miles before this happend. I have driven it around 200 miles scence the problem and have not had a problem 1 scence. gonna wait to see if it acts up again before I go putting more $ into it. mite have been a loose conection between the cam sensor and wiring I just dont know. Thank you all for the help but I do think it was the cam sensor but I could be wrong (has happend many times).

a bad connection at the cam sensor can result in exactly the symptoms you described, so let's hope that is all it was!
