Ever since I got my SHO, the tach has always been...um...let's say, generous about what RPM I'm running at (I have a pic of it going up to about what would be 9500RPM). Tonight however, I hit a puddle on the right side, then made a quick right turn (out of a Wal-mart of course) and we all know what happens. Anyway, the Tach just went nuts. It was reading at about the 6:00 postion for a while (no matter what has been done to my car, 12,000RPM is not happening)...then, jumped up and down for a mile or so before going back to it's ol routine again (read above)...

Is there something I can do to fix this that does not involve tearing out 3/4 of the dash to get to it? I'm an impatient man, so that would be bad....thanks for any help.

I have an Auto Meter Quick Lite hooked up to our RPM activated module with our 6800 rpm pill and my tachometer reads 7200 rpms when the light goes off. So up high, my tachometer is 400 rpms off which isn't unusual in our cars. At 3000 rpms however, the light comes on at 3000 rpms on the tach.

Well, that does help me fixing mine!!! laughing I guess it would be a good idea get a light to warn me, but fixing the tach so I know when to shift correctly (not just by sound, which I'm getting good at anyway.. boink )...but just, correctly.

Does your car have starting problems......Mine did when my tach went out on my 93 SHO ATX.No one had a clue what it was ,until another SHO owner told me to change the cam sensor.Once I did the car started a **** of a lot better than when I got it and the Tach went back to normal.

no probs starting it, other than the sometimes 2-3 second starting time (not all the time) from an engine with 169K on it.
