Syphon gas?

Any idea how I can syphon off a full tank of gas from my 90 SHO? I tried hoses but there is apparantly something (filter???) in the way about 5 ft in lol.

You could cut the access hole under the seat, then take off the cover to the fuel pump assy. http://www.shophoenixproject.com/fueldoor/fueldoor.htm

As long as you are not going to run around and syphon everyones tank I will tell you. Under the car where the fuel filler hose connects to the steel pipe there is a 8mm screw clamp. Loosen this clamp and remove hose and insert the hose to syphon. That is the easiest way to syphon gas from our cars.

You can use the eec test connector IIRC. Lemme poke around and find which one you connect to run the pump. All you have to do is unhook the fuel line at the rail or even the filter and put on a long enough hose to where ever you're going. I've done this on parts car, you'd think it would be in my head... Here's the pics, I found it then had to photobucket it, so now I'm back. You take the one one the right labelled fuel pump and ground it. It will run in KOEO. Enjoy!

It literally took me an hour to replace the fuel pump in a '95 SHO ATX.

I would also use a kerosene siphon attached to a long hose so you don't have to inhale gas fumes. Just squeeze the hand pump.

Yeah....the filler neck's got a tube that runs from one wall of the tank all the way almost to the other side. There's only about a 1" gap between the end of the tube and the front wall of the tank...it's to keep shady people from getting my hard earned premium fuel.

pop the clip on the tank side of the fuel filter in front of the rear wheel there, then jumper the pin like in the previous post up there. Let the pump do all the work..

w/e you do don't use your mouth ot get it started. I have done it numerous times in the past and it finally got me this weekend. I was taking the gas out of my parts car and got a mouth full and am pretty damn sick right now.

Yep. they have ready make siphons for cheap.

Disconnect the fuel filter discharge, attach a hose, take the back seat off, reach through the rubber grommet to get to the fuel pump wires, splice a wire into the pos wire and then hook it up to a battery. The pump will run as long as you want, just like that run on sentence, haha. I did this to my grandmothers totaled 95 sable so i wasn't worried about wires, but its a way.
