synchro question

The synchro in 2nd gear is deff shot in my new sho. Does anyone have any guess to how much it would be to have that replaced. Im kinda in the dark with it. Im gonna bring it to a shop and get a estimate but figured id get some imput from you guys. If i did have it replaced id rip the tranny out of the car myself and bring it to them. Im just wondering parts/labor costs.Thanks for your time.

In parts (are sycros discontinued?) and labor your prolly lookin at a couple of grand.

im pretty sure they are discontinued but dont quote me. Couple grand huh, im a lot better off just getting a used tranny in good shape then.hmmmmmm interesting situation. Thanks for the input

yea they are discontinued, your best bet would be to just pick up a new-used tranny. I'd say your best bet would be to post in the wanted to buy section. Good luck.
