I apologize if this has been asked before (I did search and couldn't find anything).

I applied the Sync update (3.6.2 for those keeping score at home), and I've noticed some weird things since.

I seem to have lost one of my tachometers - I used to have two options available, one an "analog-looking" one that is still there on the first option, and then the other one which was a much more condensed one that fit right next to the fuel gauge but it's nowhere to be seen after the update.

Also, since the update, my ambient colors switch back to stock (aka crappy) blue every few days - anyone know why this is happening?

Attaching a picture of the tachometers I'm referring to... Thanks in advance if anyone knows the answer!

The ambient color change reverts to default whenever an incremental update is pushed to your car. This is automatic and can't be turned off.

To get your optional tach back, using the left menu control, go into settings then vehicle. I forget the option but it's in there somewhere.

You need the ambient lighting TSB applied. And +1 for going into the settings on the cluster and choosing "fuel+tac" for the display.

The ambient color is reverting back every 3 or 4 days - wife's ecoboost Explorer is also doing the same thing. Only started doing this with the last Sync update, though - can't believe this is intentional, otherwise what's the purpose of having this "feature".

Ahh okay, thanks JMR - our posts got crossed. I am due to have this in the shop soon for the open recalls on it, so I'll mention it to them.

I'll check on the fuel+tach in the settings - leave it to Microsoft to move something useful to a weird spot. I like seeing my trip odometer in addition to my tach at the same time.

The tach/fuel setting has nothing to do with Microsoft. The instrument cluster resets if any programming changes are made to it. I'll have to check next time I do sync upgrade to see if the IPC resets itself....after all the right side is for MFT so its very possible.

If your Taurus is a 13 and the Ex is a 11-13 then I can just send you the files for the lighting issue. If they are 14s or newer you should be able to download MFT 3.7 which should fix it as well. 3.7 isn't for the 13 and older vehicles.

Thanks, Jason - wife's Exp is a '14, my SHO is a '13. I'm going to be ordering your AWD cluster modification for the SHO soon, so I'll have it in to the dealer for all of that and I'll have them apply the TSB to fix the ambient light issue.

When I login to SyncMyRide, they indicate that wife's 3.6.2 is up to date, and doesn't give me any option to download the 3.7 package. Do you know where I can go to get the update?
