I got in the car this morning and NAV reported that there was a problem with the SD card (this happened once last week). I removed the card and reinserted it but it was still reporting an error with the card. I ignored it until a stoplight and turned the car off and started it again but this time the display was frozen and none of the touchscreen controls responded. As I kept driving, the display turned off and on a couple of times but was blank. Eventually, the SYNC logo showed up with a progress bar and "Performing system maintenance" was on the screen. Everything is working fine now but am curious if this is something that has happened to anyone else. Was it performing a checkdisk like function or is there some kind routine maintenance that the system runs? Figures that my bumper-to-bumper warranty expired 2,000 miles ago!

I'm assuming Sync 2 because yours is a 2015.

The "Performing System Maintenance" is actually a reboot. It crashed, and rebooted. Think of the Windows BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). It's Windows CE, but same idea.

My 2013's Sync 2 would do this every 3 to 6 months. It would get wonky for a minute, stop responding, and then reboot and be fine for a long time.

What version are you on? The last version I had for my 2013 was pretty rock-solid.

Yes, Sync 2. I believe it's the latest as of a few months ago. I asked the dealer to update it when they replaced the PTU seal and fixed a boost leak. I'll take a look during lunch.

Mine did that several months after I got the car. Maybe back in April or May. It has only happened once.
