Sync 3 & Android Auto - Disable Auto Launch & Google Assistant?

New to the Sync 3 system, came from a Sync 2 in my 2014 SEL. Have a few questions about the setup.

First, is there any way to prevent Android Auto from automatically launching when plugging my phone in? If I want to use it, I can hit the button, but it automatically launching is annoying.

Second, is there any way that you can setup Android Auto on the Sync System, but keep the sync voice command system? Like when I press the voice button on my steering wheel, I want it to use the built in system, not Google Assistant.

If that's not an option, has anyone ever ran into the issue when using the Google Assistant voice commands, where it comes up with en error "Your Voice cannot be validated, so xxxxx isn't available".
I have a full Google home ecosystem at home, and have personalized results setup already.

Any insight from more experienced users would be appreciated.

Yes, the setup on your phone at one point asked if you want to automatically launch AA when connected. You just need to change that setting to "no".

When you have AA or CarPlay running, its your phone's interface, so to get back to the sync voice system you first have to push the "sync" or "ford" icon on the screen to get out of AA or CP.

Must have missed that step during setup.
I'll reset it on my phone and sync system and try it again.
