So I'm helping install an old SHOSHOP kit on a '95, and it looks like the SC bracket is for gen 1 / early gen 2, because of the alternator bolt.

I searched and found a few references to modifying the bracket. It sounded like people were saying to run with only 2 bolts? That doesn't seem very strong.

Is it worth swapping out the accessory bracket and going to the older alternator? The car has working AC too, so swapping accessory brackets seems like a long way to go.

I'm tempted to just to make a new bracket with a relocated hole/standoff for the proper positioning. I'll have to move the idler pulley to clear the new hole, but it sounds like people do that anyways to help with belt slippage.

I just needs a new standoff welded on with a hole through it.

But I'd still have to mill off the face of the old standoff, right? If I'm going to "ruin" the old standoff I'd rather just make a new bracket. If it's possible to make a dual use bracket, then that's a better idea.

That one also raised the SC and bracket into the hood, IIRC. For low fitment, the extra hole needs to be on the far side.

That's probably it then. My old clutch popped up for sale too. Not sure why the guy bought the car. All he has done was remove parts. I think he tried to sell all that a year or so ago.

Yeah, not sure why he bought it either. I'm a little bummed that the car is no longer running.
