I recently purchased a 93 SHO and it came with a superchip. I installed it and really couldn't tell any diffrence and then uninstalled in and seemed like i could feel a power loss. Does the superchips help any? If so how much. I read a couple of places that a resistor type chip would not do anything for the performance and that they were practically useless.

BTW There is a guy i know that has a 97 GTP and he took me a ride months back and he has got the little computer that shows how much power he is making and it said he was making 270 hp but i was soooo unimpressed. He has since changed supercharger pully, K&N, etc. Don't really know all of his mods. But i am just dying to race him to see how bad he will beat me if at all. He laughs when i tell him a 3.0 NA will beat his 3.8 Supercharged stock against stock. I tried to race him the other day, even showed up at his house and he said it was to windy. So i don't know if he is afraid or what. lol

I have a 93 MTX with cat delete with flex pipe as a temp fix with super chip 130,000 miles Seems faster some days then others.

It depends if it's just a generic tune, or if it's actually tuned for your car.........what color is it?

Does the chip help with that nasty 1st to 2nd shift that seems common with these cars? If so, are they still available? Thanks.

as stated, a tweecer would be better, but if you're determined to run with just a chip, get a custom tuned one. i could certainly tell a difference between one of them blue superchips and my custom tuned one. always go with a custom tune over a generic one....

Sure, but a twEECer is the farthest from a plug& play you can get & cost too much $$ & time for what it is! & ANY custom tune requires lots of Dyno time=$$$$!
