Ok, so, it's been way too long since I've seen some of my fellow Oklahoma SHO owners. And, at the time, I did not appreciate in the slightest the greatness that is a cold beer while enjoying the company of equally disturbed fellow SHO owners. I'm buying another SHO, and as soon as I get this Title 42 stuff sorted out, I do believe we need another tech meet. Sorry to whore my cars out, but I'm always willing to let some others do some wrenching!

I propose we start looking for a weekend now, sometime this summer, and try our damnedest to get something going. We can do as much or as little as anyone likes. I propose a grill, some cold brews, and some camaraderie. I had a heck of a time with Curtis, Tim, and Paul, and would like to meet some more people.

Here's a quick preview of the new SHO...

I check it every day. I just don't have much to say. There's really nothing all that new going on around here. But, I'm always here, always checking *** and I always have my cell phone if anyone needs to get in touch!

Well, if the garage in OKC is available, that would be ideal. If we do it sometime after the SHO convention I can bring my new toys!

We will be out of pocket until after Labor Day.

The weekend after we get home from the SHO convention we begin a 30+ day trip to the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern Canada with several other Thunderbird owners.

Retirement is good..............

Now, if we can drag Paul out of the woodwork.... lol Hopefully it won't turn into the parts chasing we've managed to run in to with my '89, eh, Tim? I think we planned the Gen III brakes and rod bearings, and ended up doing CV shafts, and a couple of other misc suspension things. I ended up staying in OKC overnight to get my car aligned at Pep Boys the next morning. lol

Also, Tim, didn't one of Paul's friends do repair some small cracks on the dash of your Gen II? The '94 dash is near perfect, except for some small cracks starting next the the door by the vent. Seems pretty common there since my old '95 SLO had a small crack in the same place.

So, here she is e'rbody. The new $800 '94 MTX. It was abandoned, and when they "towed" it, the parking brake was on and the car was in gear. So, first and foremost, it gets a new clutch and parking brake. Rides nice, 132k, A/C works, moonroof, full leather, keyless, dual power seats. I'm pretty sure it has all the options.

Nice! Congrats!

BTW, taking the new track car to Hallett on Sat Aug 6, so maybe we can have a mini-meet there if anyone is interested in a ride along.

I'll have that weekend off. That just happens to be the day before my birthday. I'll see if I can convince the soon-to-be Mrs.

Hallett Aug 6th,, 2011

A group of Cobra enthusiasts (kit car), is renting the track the first weekend in August. They needed to fill a few more spots, so a friend with a Vette, a Lotus, some FoMoCo products, including my NA track SHO will be joining them.

If anyone is interested in coming out and saying hey, do it! I am not sure if they are allowing ride alongs, but I assume they will, especially with the level of safety equipment in my car (10pt cage, race seats/harnesses). They are only allowing 5 cars on the track at a time, so it will be very much like I have the track to myself, great for learning this new cars setup, and later in the day, great for posting some great lap times (familiar with the track, but will be first time in this particular SHO).

I will be bringing the new track SHO to stretch its legs at Hallett. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come along.

Got to test drive it (89 track car, 2600lbs, 250hp est), holy crud in a bucket it is fast. Should be a ton of fun. It is certainly worth coming out to Hallett to check it out (and hopefully I can give some ride alongs)

I'll try to make it out. Going to try to get bumper support and headlight panel replaced, and the GenIII brakes off the '89 on the '94 before then. Then, maybe with the money from parting the '89 and the subsequent money from scrapping it, I'll have some change to play with.

Looks like I'll have to try and get at least a front 60k done before making it out. The '94 isn't running so hot all of a sudden. Oh well, that's less money I can lose while in Vegas on the honeymoon. lol

Cool beans Jarrod!

As of now, besides me and some non-SHO friends, you and David (trainguy) and a chap from TX (picking up some sho parts) are planning on coming. Hopefully, with the very few cars on track, we can arrange rides for everyone, by my coming in halfway through a session. If you have it, bring a helmet, also long pants and shirts, if you plan on a ride along. And a barf bag!!
