Wrong. The Pioneer is also a 6.5" sub. It bolts right in, hooks right up, but IMO sounds like crap. There have been numerous people indicating that it's a great, cheap replacement, but I just want to add my $0.02. I think it sucks.
Maybe others who have used this Pioneer as a replacement just don't remember how good the stock JBL sounded (for a 6.5" driver) waaay back when it was new.
I've also heard of 2 people who have put 8" drivers into the stock box (designed obviously for the 6.5" JBL) and have been happy.
I think the only way to be happy after replacing the sub with something other than the stock JBL 6.5" is to replace the amp that drives it at the same time.
