so I'm doing the clutch install, and i dont like how rusty looking my subframe looks under the 14 years of grime, so how much did it cost you guys who got your subframe powdercoated? i imagine its pretty durable as well. I may do the sway bars while i'm at it they are rusty too. probablty some other ods and ends as i come across them.

My '99 subframe is going out in a couple weeks to get coated. About $250 for the textured black, including all the blasting to strip it bare.

Wow,

My two have cost 60.00 apiece for gloss black, including the sand blasting. I guess I should get more done.

I do powdercoating here in Bama and something like this usually would be about a $100 job or so in a gloss/flat black. Recently my sandblaster has been crapping out so I've been cutting people breaks to pre-strip larger items.

A friend of mine spent $50 having it sandblasted. He said it would cost him $75-100 to get it powdercoated, but he is going to put undercoating on it for about $15. Powdercoating will probably look nicer.

Not bad at all. With all the rust and scale that builds up here, I'm sure the blasting takes a bit more labor, plus I'm pretty sure they degrease it before blasting it too. If I brought it in prepped it would be more like $100.

For me, $250 is worth it just to drop it off as-is and pick it up in a couple of days all done. But then again, I'll have about $1200 just in powder coating and Jet-Hot before the car is done.

I still havent decided if i'm going to powdercoat it or not, i dont think any other kind of finishing would stand up to the elements. I think a PC subframe would look nice, and be easier to keep clean. I'm a big fan of having a clean engine compartment

Chris,

They sand blast and powder coat for 60.00, 70.00 if it's really greasy. I had my 91's done a few weeks ago and wanted it expedited, costing an extra 30.00. I also had two lower battery trays done and one battery hold down. Total cost was 105 with taxes, title....

I paid $150 to have mine done in chrome. That included sandblasting. If I wanted a standard color such as black or another solid it would've been $100.
