Subframe Connectors

[SHO24V6]

I have seen and heard of sub-frame connectors (sfc) being welded on when the car is on all fours and when it is on a lift.
Witch is the correct way for the install.

Also what is the demensions and angles of the sbc,
I'm a welder and I think I can fabricate some.

You can use a lift if its like an alignment rack.
The car has to be resting with its wieght on the wheels.

So why is it that the SHO times web site says, and I quote "When I install the connectors, I use a chassis lift. This induces a bow up in the chassis from lifting the car at points inside the wheel base." but on this site it says to have all four wheels touching?

There is no correct way, it's up to the individual. There are a lot of posts on what people think is right. Do whatever you feel is the best way. As for dimensions, either search in the suspension section under "sfc's" or contact "twrsho" on the forum.

When mine were installed the car was on a body lift with the wheels dangling. Then a support was placed under the SFCs while the car was lowered a bit more. This puts and upward bow in the connector which puts stress on the body and more rigidity.

You know now that I think about it, I guess a regular lift should be fine. As long as yuo set the lift out of the way of your contact points for the SFC.

Thats a poor photo!!
I think ShoShops are probably the best; they dont cost much more and are two square tubes welded together so you get more rigidity than on rectangular tube, which is what you want in the first place, and they are accurately welded, not so in a lot of cases with others.
Get the long ones! They are sure worth it, really helped!

those were my connectors being sold on ebay, that wasnt a pic of the connectors, i dont have pics yet, that was just a stack of metal, they are cut and mitered to fit the subframe and they are the full length,the reason the 1x1 pieces of metal are bad is they are heavier, more likely to tweak, and much more likely for the welds to crack because of 2 pieces twisting against eachother, trust me, i did much research on this, why do you think spmotorsports and such sells 2x1 rectangular steel????
