I have a JL 10w3 d2 sitting in a sealed enclosure along with a 600 watt amp. It was in my Mustang but since I will be driving the SHO more often, I am going to install it into the SHO. With that said, I know I will have to run some power wires to the trunk but what about the signal wires? Can I just tap into the existing sub amp? How do I go about doing that? I searched and found tons of mixed answers and nothing very concrete about this issue.

do you mean like using the stock amp to run it ???

No... I want to use the existing signal wires that power the JBL amp. Remove the stock amp, replace it with mine, and use the existing wires. Is this doable?

even if you get it to work the sound quality would be crap IMO be best to run new signal wires

X2, it's not too tough, just time consuming, and just get a bypass plug+wire. Very simple, then you can get rid of all that dead weight, and add more of course.

p.s. It looks like were getting a few more people interested in a NebSHO meet, looking forward to seeing everone!

Are you running a stock head unit or do you have an aftermarket? If you're sticking with stock, just run a pair of Line out Convertors. If you've got an aftermarket unit, stick with the RCA outputs on the back of your deck.

True that, forgot to ask.

And if you do need a line converter, I've got a brand new one. PM me if you're interested.

x2, but you have to run other wires back any way, why not just run the RCA's with them and not have a bunch of wire just sitting in the trunk.

on the other hand this would work great if you could find, (or make) very short RCAs, just to rune from the line converter to the amp, maybe 3 feet?

line converter is the 2nd best way.. next to a new head unit.. any other way is a waste of time and effort..
