I'm gonna do my lower 60K this weekend. Here's the stupid question... Do I have to drain the oil before I do the cam seals, and front main seal? I'm guessing yes I do need to, but I'm not sure. Hey call me stupid but I'd rather be safe then sorry.

No you do not, but it's a good idea to change the oil after replacing those seals, especially the crank seal.

The oil is sitting in the oil pan, so there is no worry of it leaking out otherwise.

What does a lower 60K consist of? I'm quite familiar with what are commonly referred to as upper and front 60K's, but lower 60K seems to be a new one that's popped up recently.

That may my fault, I was calling it the lower 60k for a while (including on my website) until Scott Patterson corrected me a while ago...
