I was romping on it a little bit after dropping something off at my parents' house and the exhaust snapped open at the y-pipe ****** I'll probably take it to OTE Designs in Waukesha and have Tom make up something. Oh well...

Yeah, it does sound kinda cool at WOT past like 5k RPMs  Below that it sounds like your typical "I'm too poor to fix this POS" beater ;)

agreed.
i did a temporary fix by welding(crappy welds) the exhaust together...
it worked for a week or so.. then the crappy welds broke and it was back and even worse =)

SS still rusts... somehow...

the stock exhaust is SS, and mine has been replaced twice according to my records... Borla used to make a SS kit as well... but not anymore, and it was somewhere in the ballpark of $800... i think Frank has Borla on his 91... i think the borla holds up a bit better than other exhausts... atleast i would hope so...

hmm i thought stainless steel you just rubbed the rust off?
if there was only a very heat-resistant clear coat....

Stainless can rust. Jet coating is a great alternative to having rusty exhaust. plus its a very good heat barrier. Dynomax is aluminized.
