When I was trying to take the bolt that holds the gas tank strap to the car I stripped the head of the bolt. How do you go about take a stripped screw out of there? Has this happened to anyone else? Any help would be nice, thanks rant

is it stripped, or did it break off? I've had to drill one, but usually if I can get it to break off, I can get the remaining section of bolt out by sacrificing the U-Clip that it screws into.

Best of luck, been there about 3 times now.

sears craftsman has come out with a socket extracting set i think its called bolt-out, cost 19.99 for 5 sockets and another 19.99 for the other 5 sockets. i just bought this whole kit and had to use it for 2 rounded off bolts and it was amazing how easy the bolts came out.
