I've had this car for close to a year now and for the second time, it has crapped out on me again. Here's the deal. It runs like a top most of the time. I can drive it all day without problems, as long as I don't let it set at idle for too long (5-10min). Last night, after running errands all over town, I stopped at McD's for a drive thru bite. I sat out in front for 5-10 min or so, and it started happening again. The tac drops to 300-400rpm and after about 30 sec or so, it dies out. It will restart, but with the same problem. If I baby it and try to take off, it will as long as I have the pedal to the floor. At about 1500rpm, it picks up and runs with a miss, similair to oil in the plug wells. However, if during these symptoms, I shut it off and leave it for a 30 min, it will start back up and run fine again. I ran the codes and got 11- systems check ok and 33-EGR did not open/ intermittent. I wouldn't think EGR would cause this severe of a problem. I'm clueless as to what it might be. I thought maybe Cam Position Sensor, but not certain. I've done searches and can't find anything with my exact problems.

Any help from the SHO gods would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and it's a 89 w/132000. Plugs, Wires, Valve cover and Plug well seals are all new. Thanks.

The EGR opening at idle can **** the engine. Correct the problem causing the code.

The memory code stated that there were times when the EGR did not open, not that it was opening too often. But still, I plan to replace the EGR. Thanks for the advice. Anymore would be extremely appreciated. Not many SHO mechanics to be found this far north.
