Radio Shack sells a replacement 6.5 sub that fits perfectly in the sub box for about 15 bucks. It sounds pretty good, but get this. While I brought the Radio Shack sub and installed it. I had my factory sub repaired at a local speaker repair shop. The comon problem with the factory sub is the lead wire breaks or become loose. I had the lead wire replaced for 10 bucks and swap it with the Radio Shack sub. Both subs sound about the same.

My sub recently started sounding like crap, I believe it is blown so does that lead wire thing have anything to do with that? Radio shack has a sub that fits, will it work with the factory amp? How do you install it? Do you just have to swap it and it uses the same wires etc?

I think that Kicker makes a sub that will fit in the stock enclosure, with some minor modifications. Anything would sound better than something you buy at Radio CRAP.

Indeed Stillwater/kicker males a sub that will fit. You can also take a 8" kicker and with a small modification fit it in the stock enclosure and get more proformance.
