hey will any other subs fit into the stock enclosure? I have the JBL soundsystem and was looking for a little more punch but not too much (neighbors are ********). I heard its a 6.5 driver?, I thought it was an 8? well anyways if anything decent will fit in there thats in improvement over the stock sub let me know! also is there anyway to turn up the amp? i don't really know much about amps I just know how to install speakers heh. I looked at the amps and didn't see any switches or anything like the ones i'm used to.

Well, there are component speakers that you could use instead of the stock sub, but it wouldn't sound much better because the JBL amp in our cars is not exactly high powered. If you don't want an aftermarket sub/amp setup, just get a couple good 6x8's or somethin and put them in place of the stock ones and you may notice a difference, especially if you have an aftermarket CD deck that pushes out good power. I'm not sure about turning the amp up or down, my guess is that they don't have dials like a regular amp and can't really be changed, but I'm not sure.

yeah thats what I figured about the amps. I'll probably just add a new amp and 8 for the enclosure and new 6x8s. who knows i'll probably end up replacing everything lol. I have a pioneer premier cd deck so i think it can push decent power (it did in my other car) which was loaded with Pioneer Premier everything. the only thing that sucked about getting rid of that car was that i lost the system that was in it, it was deep and powerful even without a sub. and since none of the measurments are the same as the SHOs I can't use them.

Just replacing the speakers will not necessarly give you better sound. Replacing the speakers with quality (JBL, Infinity, Polk, Alpine, etc..) will help but replacing the amps with them will do the trick. Factories like to use 8-10 ohm systems while the aftermarket uses 4 ohm systems. Don't mix'em. Stay factory or switch entirely. That is only way to achive the best quality.

I put a 8" kicker solo-baric into mine, but i had to cut out the indented ring that the stock speaker sat in, for the speaker to fit properly.
