I've got a shiny nice White 94 MTX SHO, only thing I've done to it is put in a drop-in K&N, and I was thinking about putting in a cold air intake, tho I might just remove the silencer cone and cut off part of the stock box lol...looking for any suspension tips...anything at all, preferably with explanations, cuz I'm still learning...thank ya much

With the cone filter, it was suggested I keep my k&n panel filter and just cut out the silencer cone and front flap of the stock air box...would that work as well as a cone?

SHO5 makes some very good points. Struts, springs, and tires make a huge difference. Pricey, but worth it.

You should also look at set of SFC (subframe connectors) these will help stop the frame from flexing and greatly improve handling. A 26mm rear sway bar from a older SHO (will help to reduce understeer, there are many different thoughts on front/rear SB combo's). Poly or Tpr sway bar bushing front and rear. Heavy duty end links for the rear. Finish it off with a set of Alum. Subframe bushings.

I think I would keep the K&N filter, take out the silencer and not bother to cut up the air box.

There is a lot of info on supension upgrades on the forum. Use the search feature and you will find tons of very useful information from people with far more experience than I on these topics.

Good Luck thumbs_u

yea the SHO's had some suspension softness so working on the suspension first is a good thing remember its not the speed its if you can handle it.

intrax springs and KYB gr2's struts, cheap and good quality, if you are looking for all out race (outocross) you might want koni strutts instead.

I personally feel that the GR2s aren't any better than stock struts. I've ridden in an SHO with them, and I feel that they are an excellent alternative for someone who needs to replace the stock struts, or who wants a compliment for lowering springs, but as far as performance I feel they offer almost no gain. Some might say they do, but I think this might be more of a case of replacing old worn struts with some good new parts than an actual performance increase of any sort. I think if you want to make the most of your car's handling, Tokicos or Konis are a must. There have ben a plethra of topics about performance struts as of recently, check back in this section and you will find a ton of good info.

Start with the suspension and brakes. IMO, if I had it to do all over again, I'd go with the suspension and leave the engine dead stock for quite a while. The car is powerful man, and if it's running great stock, leave it that way for a while. How about some nice, wide 16s or 17s with good rubber, a set of SFCs, good springs and struts, and a better sway bar setup. I think you will have much more fun bustin' around turns than you will spending $1000 to see a 7hp improvment. Just the opinion of a "modification veteran."

I'll be picking up my 95 SHO today from the shop where it got Eibachs and Koni's. I'll let you know what I think. Can't wait.

Well, in short the Koni Eibach set up is awesome. My stock struts were worse than I thought. Even with the Konis set at full soft it handled superbly compared to the stock worn out stuff. It steers much more precise too. I'm very happy with the set up.
