Hi all,

I bought a 2011 SHO from an older relative back in 2018. He purchased it new and was pretty religious on maintenance and upkeep. No modifications. I've put 42,000 miles on it since then (It currently has around 112K miles). My father-in-law who is a retired mechanic has graciously agreed to take care of some maintenance. Here is a list of what he is currently fixing:

New brake shoes (front and rear)
New calipers (front and rear)
New rotors (front and rear)
Wheel bearings (front and rear)
Struts (front and rear)
Oxygen sensors
Ignition coils and plugs
Turbocharger (front and rear)
Belt and idler

He is also flushing the radiator and transmission. From your experience, is there anything else that has been problematic on this year or car that he should take a look at while it is all apart?

Thanks in advance.

change the ptu fluid regularly. It states lifetime fluid. Nope. check the turbo lines and the shaft for play if possible

Unless the turbos are bad there is no reason to change them. At that mileage your water pump, timing chains and related parts are getting close to checking-out. I'd probably look at upgrading the brakes to 2013+ specs as the 10-12 were a weak part of the platform.

Thank you for your reply. One turbo had fin damage. Picture included. Sorry for the low quality. The other he said was seized when he was inspecting it.

I will add the water pump, timing chain and related parts to the list.

Have him check all the suspension components. I've gone through some strut links and ball joints in 185,000 miles. Just put on a new starter last month.
