Im lookin into prices for a few weeks down the road...possibly next month or early august. I want to get the spare MTX trans i have rebuilt. and when i replace mine with the bad sync i want them to throw a new clutch kit in there....might as well right?

Anyways here are the issues. I will be modifying the car, ypipe, all the bolt-ons ect. but i plan on it being my daily driver. I do not plan to race the car except, ya know, occasional toyin around with a friend or blowin away a riced out garbage can. So the issue is, stock clutch or something with a little more BITE. I dont want to spend money on something that i might not get my moneys worth from but i dont want to spend money on a stock replacemnt that will just go to ****.

I have heard the stock can take a little bit of an a$$ whoopin anyways, but like i said before i basically drive this car like i respect it. I dont fly from a stoplight at full throttle to the next light only to crush on the breaks and do it again. I cruise around and give it a lil gas to get the heart goin everyonce in a while.

So as far as stock replacements we have:? valeo, luk...(insert clutch of choice here)... and the prices are?? the places i can get these are??
I am talking full kits here.. clutch, pressure plate, TOB (possibly one that will last decently long), straps and what not...what ever comes in a clutch kit cause i dont know!

thanks

Buy a CM1 it's a good price, the pressure plates are modified with better straps but I would suggest you go with SHOnutperformance ceramic TOB it cost a little bit more but I think it is worth it becuase it will prevent the wearing of your PP fingers. A stock Valeo kit will handle the mods you describe but if you plan on NOS or adding bost then a stage 2 spec or higher will be needed. Next time you should use the search button, there are plenty of post on here that's why I post so little because it is amazing what the search button can yield :thumb: , have a nice day.

The stock clutch can handle a 75shot.... And it's not a bad piece, except when powershifting comes into play. (broken straps)

You can buy the PP/Disc/TOB from AutoZone as well as a flywheel. I ran one of these "kits" in my 93, and had no problems. In fact there is one in the 91 right now... and I have not been easy on that clutch. These clutches from AZ are just remanufactured stock pieces...

Don't get me wrong the CM1 IS a great buy, but if your'e just gonna have a couple bolt on's i'd say stick with the stocker...

I can't recall the prices for the clutch parts... let me look them up... :thumb:

The disc is $66 with a core.
The PP is $152 with a core.
The TOB is $12 for just the TOB. But I would also recomend Josh's Ceramic unit... :thumb:
The Flywheel is $133 with a core (has ring gear installed allready) (or you could just turn your old one)

I forgot how pricey the PP was... as I only bought the disc the last time (had a stock Ford PP).

Don't forget the ones at AutoZone come with a lifetime warranty for around $285. They're the same pressure plate and disc you'd get from Ford and that's Valeo. The part number you want, with the updated TOB version, is NU0122RK. That number should cross at any auto store.
