Is the cd player from a 90 taurus and a 92 taurus the same? Please tell me yes so I can get this cd player hehe..

No. The Gen II cd player is different in connection and in installation.

If you hook up a Gen II cd player to your Gen I radio/cassette, you will not get the automatic cut-out for the cd player. So you have to switch the radio to a "dead" frequency, or you will hear both the radio and the cd coming through your speakers.

In addition the Gen II cd player, although a standard DIN size, has a faceplate that prevents the latches from engaging. A hard launch or a hard turn will slide that guy right into your ashtray (been there, done that).

Just out of curiosity, why would you want an OEM Ford stereo? The SHO CD player is widely known to suck anyway. Get a Sony, JVC, Kenwood....

when your stereo gets stolen twice in a month, you learn to value the simple or stock things in life. im speaking from experience. 3 grand in stereo equipment stolen.
