Still leaks oil...

New Problem:
I just paid over 500 bones to have the following replaced because of an oil leak: Pan gasket, crank seals, cam seals & CID seal, and I replaced the valve cover gaskets. I just got it home from the shop, took a peek under there and I saw a freakin oil drip from the bottom of the timing belt cover, like it has been dripping from for 6 months!!! What the **** else could it be? Everything that could be leaking on that side has been replaced.
What is it!?

Nothing to worry about. The ribs in the belt need to be broken in by the cam cogs. It'll do it for a few thousands miles or so.

hmmm. That figures
I have the same leak. I know its not the front main seal though. I know my CID seal leaks like crazy... and I am guessing the other 2 cam seals leak as well... what else could cause a leak in that area?
See if the CID area is clean of oil (with your fingers)... maybe they gouged the surface under the seal upon removal??? shrug

The only sources of oil leaks on the front of the engine are the front main crankshaft seal and the three camshaft seals. The cam seal under teh CID sensor tends to leak on the power steering pump while the two intake camshaft seals will leak on the engine side of the back metal timing belt cover and possibly down the inside of the timingj covers.

I found a significant amount of oil evidence inside the timing belt covers due to leaks from the intake cam seals on my own engine. The front bank cam seal also had trails running down the pump side of the lower radiator hose. The seal under the CID sensor ran down the rear of the engine and covered the power steering pump.

There is a chance that the shop that replaced your seals did not clean out the old oil from inside the timing belt covers and it is just the ersidue finding its way out. Either that or they incorrectly did the job replacing the crank or cam seals. The worst would be damaging either the crank or cams while trying to remove the old seals.
