Alright here's my problem. I had some crazy oil burning problems when i first got my car. It was so bad that it failed emmisions. Well, after the 60k tuneup, it was still burning oil so i decided to replace the remaining seals. Basically what i'm getting at is that i have replaced every oil seal in the engine, including the valve stem seals (those are a bitch to do). But my car is still burning about 1 quart every 500 miles. It passed emmisions with flying colors but it still burns oil. My question is will auto-rx help this? Because with all new seals, the seal restoring agent really wont be doing a whole lot. Or should i try and get to the bottom of this and ask where my oil is going? Cause there are no leaks and i have fresh seals absolutely everywhere. Your help is much appreciated.

That's what you need to do! Forget AutoRX, figure out what the problem is first! thumb

Sounds like your valve guides are worn or your piston rings are worn. A compression test will tell you whether its the former or the latter.
Or piston rings are stuck. If the rings are stuck the auto-rx will help. It can't fix worn valve guides or worn rings obviously.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention (sorry). I have great compression. Did a leak down test while replacing the valve seals (woulda been stupid not to) and all 6 cylinder are in the excellent range. So this leaves the valve guides then huh? :( I would rather just keep buying oil than fix that. But what i dont understand is that if its burning so much oil, how did i do so well passing emmissions?
