So one day, I noticed that my brakes were only working on the front. I check my fluid level and the reservoir was empty. Upon further inspection, I find out that the master cylinder is bad. The rear seal on it was leaking and all of the fluid was in the Brake Booster. I replace the Master cylinder and remove the fluid from the booster. The Master cylinder is bench bled and installed. I bleed all of the brake lines.

After this is finished, I roll the car out of the drive way and the pedal is stiff. Like it wont hardly budge and the car is barely slowing down. So I figure, its a bad Brake Booster. I replace that. Reinstall everything, re-bleed everything. Same outcome. I am in a bind and can not figure this thing out. The new brake booster is holding vacuum as it should.

Help me, SHOForum :(

That's my question too. How was the brake bleeding? It seems like you have air in the line or a collapsing hose under pressure. Best guess off the cuff. I would look at fluid moving through the prop valve and old hoses at all the calipers. Did you activate abs while bleeding the thing?

Is the rod/piston not properly aligned when you put it in? I had a similiar issue and it was because the rod was not centered corretly. it cause a super stiff pedal with no braking.

Your "new" master cylinder could be giving you grief. With the help of a friend, crack one bleeder and step on the pedal and see how much fluid comes out. I don't have to tell you about screwing the bleeder back down before you release the pedal. My guess is not much fluid will come out. I have had them bad, right out the box. Can't explain why, but maybe something goes wrong with the valving.

Ditto. I installed 3 master cylinders one weekend before I got a working version.

When i go to bleed the brakes, fluid squirts out, so there i don't think its a collapsed line. I tried readjusting the master cylinder back onto the rod and i still get the same result. Ill try getting another master cylinder and see how that works out

You have started the car, yes? Obvious, and you don't seem to be oblivious, but I'm just making sure.
