I recently installed two Infinity Kappa 6.5s to replace the front stock JBLs. The install was quick as it was getting dark, but I basically used the stock mounting bracket to fit the speakers in, and pushed all the extra wiring to the front of the inside door. That probably wasn't a smart idea. A few quick takeoffs and I could tell already that my drivers side speaker was falling out of the stock bracket, and whenever I put the window down more than a 1/4 of the way the speaker starting making funky noises as if it were pushing down on the wiring. Irregardless, the driver side speaker is not working at all anymore. I ripped the door paneling off yesterday to take a look and it seemed okay to me, all the wiring was still in tact.
I wasn't having any issues with the passengers side until the drivers side stopped working completely. It's odd, but the passenger side speaker barely functions unless the aftermarket head unit is turned up past a certain volume level and the bass starts thumping. I really hope I didn't ruin something, I'm almost tempted to just throw the stock JBLs back in, as I didn't find these Infiniti's to be much better anyhow.
