My 92 is making some awful noises when i turn. The PS fluid is all black. And it doesnt seem to have enough steering power at low RPM's. Also there is a grinding noise at the eend of a turn (when the steering wheel goes as far left or right as it can). I think its my pump. Does anyone care to differ or at least have any advice. If it is the pump: how expensive is a new one, and how hard to replace?
Thanks

$150-200 for a reman exchange.

More than a huge PITA to replace.

It's probably not the pump anyway.

Check for proper level.

Check for proper belt tension.

Check for air bubbles in the fluid.

Flush out the fluid several times.

Always avoid running the steering wheel to the stop. It is bad for the seals in the rack and the pump.
