On my 94 ATX when I go to try and start it I get nothing. There is no clicking noise to tell me that the starter is even getting juice. Everything else works, headlights, radio, etc. I just changed the starter in February and the car sat for about a month as I was trying to sell it. I'm pretty positive that it is not the starter since I don't even have a "clicking" noise and I took the starter off to test it and sure enough, it works fine. Any help is appreciated.

Maybe the little wire with a clip clip came off the starter? I've had starters on my SHO die with no symptoms at all.

If im not mistaken there is a sensor or something that tells the car its in park, reverse, neutral etc. or somethign to that effect if the car thinks its in drive it will not crank or anything just seem lifeless. Someone chime in with what im talking about haha.

Make sure that the ground wire is connected... I think its the negative batt. cable that is grounded behind the starters mounting bolt.

I took the starter out to test it and everything was on correctly, ground wires and all.

Nuetral safety switch maybe, but I'm not sure if the car will crank if it's bad...Pull your codes to see if you have a bad sensor or relay or something.

No start, no noise, and an ATX:

- Brake switch [on brake pedal arm]
- Ignition Switch
- MLPS Sensor [highly doubt]
- Inline fuse located between the MLPS and starter [ignition signal wire]
- Starter [tap it with a hammer or something]
- Ignition Fuse [disconnect coolant sensor and insert a new fuse, coolant sensor is bad]

Edit: To test and see if it's the brake switch, have someone look to see if your brake lights work [wont work if switch is bad], or turn the key one click foward and put the shifter in neutral. It should start in neutral if the switch is bad.

try 'screwdriver starting' it (jump the terminal between the positive cable and the braided wire on the starter) and see if it cranks. that will rule out a whole lot of stuff

Common sense will tell you if you cross the positive and ground together with a screw driver, it will receive power and attemp to crank [even without the key in the ignition].

Doing what you said can only rule out a bad solenoid if it is bad. And usually when they are bad, they click, which his is not. No way are you going to rule out "a whole lot of stuff".
