Starter click, car wont start

I cant seem to figure out what the cause of my car intermittantly not starting is. Actually, i should say intermittantly starting. It just clicks when i turn the key, and after about 10 minutes of trying, it will eventually turn over and start right up. I've been diggin through a few posts on here, and i checked the power cable from the battery and redid the contacts on there since it was a bit corroded. It's also a brand new battery, so i'm kinda stumped. Could the whole cable be bad and need changing, or is the started pretty much gone?

Get your starter tested. It's probably on its way out.ZStarter replacement is a staple of SHO ownership. I've had to replace mine 3 times

If testing your starter itself checks out ok, crawl under and take a look at the wiring harness that goes from your battery to your starter. If anything is corroded, stripped, or otherwise messed up, that can cause an intermittent problem with the starter. This recently happened to me and I couldn't figure out why the car was eating starters left and right. Turns out some of the plastic casing (or whatever you call it) on one of the cables was sheared off and caked in oil and grease and who knows what else, and was shorting out. We rebuilt the wiring set for around $20... NAPA sells wire by the foot.
