To be fair, I agree with slo-sho. It really does sound like your crank sensor pooped.

The other codes are explainable under certain circumstances. ACT and ECT will both be set if it's really cold out and the engine isn't warmed up. ACT... well, that won't generally trip unless it's bad but I suppose it's possible.

The MAF code is fairly easy to troubleshoot. First off, a bad MAF will not keep your car from starting, but you won't be able to troubleshoot it until you have gotten it started. If it runs like crap with the MAF plugged in, unplug it (while it's running). Does it run even worse? If so, your MAF is fine (though it could probably use some cleaning). If there is no change, then your MAF is probably bad.

The 542 simply means your car stalled. Probably when the crank sensor stopped working!

Okay. Thanks.
If the CPS is "pooped," will that prevent it from starting if I try pushing it to a start? (I didn't want to try in case it didn't work, cuz I didn't want to have to push it all the way back to the garage.)
I still don't understand the totally different sound when cranking it. Would a failed CPS cause that?

Last night I finally towed the car to a friend. I left, he ran some diagnostic tests that I printed out from other posts on this forum :thumb: and said that it seemed like it "wanted to start." And it did. He's not sure what he did, but thought that it acted like it was flooded. He also thought that the ignition module may be going bad, but, again, he had no idea either.
So, for now, I'm up and running.
Anyone want to buy an SHO wagon with a killer sound system? I'll be posting soon. My wife says to find a "real" tow vehicle.

I had this happen once, when I first got my SHO, started it, killed it, and it didnt want to start. Had about the same errors codes... I think.

I tried for hours to get it to start, then I called the SHO god and he told me to just hold the gas pedal to the floor and start it... and what do ya know, started right up and ran pretttty rich for a moment, then all was well.

Ok, not all well, It was still not firing on all 6, that had nothing to do with the problem, but it went to the shop from there and the SHO god did a 60K on it. LOL, this is why you DO NOT pressure wash the engine..

*looks around for 2fast4u*
