Hello all, just new to the site. I have 94 sho 3.0 5 speed. I have had car for 4 months, Car will start up cold but if you stop car before it warms up it will not start again? If you try again in 8 hours car will restart. When car is warm sometimes it takes 3 restarts to get it running. When the car would not restart the tac was moving, I could smell gas but did not check for spark. Also did not check computer for codes but when I bought the car I had emmissions done. There were no codes and I had that problem 1 week after buying the car. Is it the crank sensor or the camshaft sensor. If its not that any ideas? any help would be great. Thanks setup.

It might be the crank or cam sensors.

Go ahead and run codes. The computer usually has additional clues as to problems and the codes may help.

In my unprofessional opinion, it sounds like the CID (cylinder identification) sensor. This can act up and NOT throw a code, but eventually (if left to get bad enough) will give you a 214.

Besides, the CID is cheaper and MUCH easier to replace!

If there's someone nearby you with a SHO you could beg for a little switch-a-roo for awhile, just to see if the problem switches cars.

If not, you can buy a replacement CID at AutoZone (or equivalent) for around $45.

Do a search and you'll see that SDPATT (#51) has posted the Wells part number numerous times.

Good luck. Let us know if you can retrieve any codes and we'll try to help you out.

You can find links to retrieving the codes yourself at www.shotimes.com, or www.midwestsho.com, or search here for more links!

Do NOT trust that whomever did your inspection actually checked for all the possible codes.

Heck, it'll be good practice for when you REALLY need to figure something out thumb

Good luck.
