I have a 91 plus and am having a stalling problem. It has stalled three times in the pass three days. Once when i was driving, ( down shifting to stop at a redlight and it stalled in rush hour traffic) but it started back it after it sat for about 5 mins. The second time it stalled it was just sitting and running( after about 20 of the car running at idle the car stalled but started right back up) the third time was tonight i was on the bridge come from philly to jersey and the car stalled on the on-ramp.but started right back up.
I thought it might be something loose but i hit some big bumps and the car didn't shut off. I do have an amp in the trunk with a box that has 2 10's in it i dont know if it is taking power away from the battery and it's shutting off or it is something else. Can anyone help.
thanks,
David

The best place to start would be to check your EEC codes and see what you come up with. Checking them can be found here - http://www.shophoenixproject.com/eec/eec.htm -. Post what you get here.

When you say the car is stalling, does the tach drop to zero when this happens? When was the last time a 60k was performed?

P.S. - You will probably get better replies if you post in the help and maintainance - engine section

yes, my tach has been acting funny for the past month or so. it would keep jumping or not work at all or only in nuetural. I am running the test now. So far i got a bad oxygen sensor, temp control sensor. Would a bad oxygen sensor stall the car??

i did the test and every time i did the code 81 came up and that said that i was doing something wrong but i followed the steps and it still didn't work out. Yes the tach is jumping and some times does not work at all. I did get some code other than that one out. it's said i have a bad oxygen sensor, and temp control sensor. can either of those stall the car? but start right back up??

The IAB??? Idle Air Bypass valve.

the little tube thingy on the intake behind the throttle body.

check that connection... you can also check it by removing it, and putting a 9v battery to it and see if it moves...
