Stainless Steel Brake Line Install gone wrong?

I don't know where I went wrong, but I started with the right rear brake line, followed the instructions, and now I have a drip from where the hard lines meets the new stainless steel lines.

I am at a loss here....I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

At the coupling or where the end is attached to the hard line? did you bend the hard line at all?

no, marcel....I am a *****, as I have said many times before...

as it turns out, the nut on the hard line was severely corroded, as it doesn't thread as far into the stock rubber lines. I cleaned the thread up with a wire wheel and my dremel, and then tried again and all was well.

looks like I am going to have to replace the bleeders on the rear calipers, as they are also severely corroded; the passenger side rear doesn't even flow anymore...

Now, I remember you commenting about how tight the lug nuts were on the passenger side front....well, so are the driver's side. I cannot get them off for the life of me, so I just gave up. Unfortunately, that is the side where the pad is gone and there is metal on metal contact, so I am going to take to a shop to have them take an impact gun to it.

AZ has the bleeder nuts. I had to replace my left front once I got the heat wrench out to get the old one broke free.

Corrosion might not have been the reason for the leak, but it's good that you cleaned the threads up nonetheless. When I get a leak on flare fittings like that what I do is undo the connection and then redo it while trying to pay really good attention to the positioning of the parts. Sometimes the flares don't seat quite right and redoing the connection does the trick.

Glad you got the leak fixed. Sorry about the bleeder trouble. Make sure you get the right threads on the replacement.

Rick,

The problem was that I couldn't thread the fitting all the way into the stainless line due to all the corrosion on the fitting. I took it all apart and inspected the flair on the hard lines, and it looked okay...

I am looking into purchasing some speedbleeders as replacements for the stock valves.
