It must be the Russel lines I installed then my memory is fuzzy. I know I got the kind that were long enough for the rear.

Don't get me wrong, I like the Earl's kit, and recommend it. But, IMO, you're stressing the line more than necessary if you try to bolt it to the rear strut.

Personal Observations:

Earl's kit, V6 SHOs, rears:
It seems to me that the mounting tab is positioned in the wrong spot (should be nearly mirrored front to back on the hose), so will not allow proper installation to the strut tab without serious kinking potential.

Loop the hose around the back of the strut, loosely & zip-tied around the front, etc., but don't kid yourself that you're going to properly install to the strut in the back.

This was not my experience with the Earl's lines. They fit and worked perfectly, no potential for kinks in the rear, at least on my car. They kept the section from the caliper to the tab only as long as it needed to be, and allowed enough between the strut tab and hard line so that it has plenty of room to move with suspension articulation. I'll try to get some pictures of them installed on my car, perhaps they have changed their design recently.

Just be cautious with the Earls lines as they are short and there is the potential to snag something if the car is off the ground and the wheels are turned.

The Goodridge lines do not work because they only include 3 lines with the kit. This is why are Goodridge kits our more expensive (we have to combine kits to make one good one).

I've never had a problem with the Earl's lines on either the 11.6" or 13" rotor. They've only seemed tight because they have a spring to keep the line from rubbing on the tire. I've been very pleased with the Earl's lines as I am using them on both of my SHO's.
