Last night as I was cruising around, I left a parking lot, and started revving my engine some, SHOwing off the SHO ( :D ). Suddenly, I heard a small squeal and the clutch pedal moved further in. All I can think of is an accessory belt couldn't take the sudden level of power, and slipped some, as one slipped earlier for a few seconds after I cleaned the air intake out  . Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Revving an engine in neutral is ******* the bearings. The accessory belt might be slipping to cause the squeal, but that would have nothing to do with the clutch pedal. You should tiughten the asccessory belt a 1/2 - 1 turn of the tensioner screw (after loosening the idler pulley nut).

Thanks Scott! As for the clutch pedal, someone at work today suggested it may be the clutch moving back from the flywheel? I've forgotten what he said exactly, but he claimed it is normal.

As for the bearings, would you say pushing in the clutch and bumping the RPMs up a bit a couple of times stresses them? I'm just wondering because I see it so often, but then again, so many people at car shows fire up their engine and rev it right away...

Revving a cold engine without oil pressure is an EXCELLENT way to **** an engine.
