Hmmmm, I think I'll hold off on the springs if there is no camber adjustment. I was just on the H&R website and the technical article said that the camber will change and needs to be adjusted.

Edit: I called the Tire Rack and was able to cancel the order. They said they would call H&R about my issue with the camber adjustment and let me know.

I wonder if they will make adjustable camber plates for them or if we will have to mod the upper holes to get it aligned right like the older gens?? :munch:

Take a look at the strut tower... there doesn't look like there's much room to do any adjustment.

I just called H&R and asked them about the camber. She said that when you install them, you should mark exactly where the struts are mounted and then reinstall them in the same position. When you go for an alignment, there is a little bit of adjustment that they can get it in spec. Bob, darreli... was your camber in spec when you had it aligned?

I called them to the other day. You can only install them one way. The is no camber adjustment. But I well be doing an alingment soon. I am waiting on darreli to get back with me.

I told them there is no camber adjustment and there is no room to modify it to make it adjustable. I'm guessing the person I talked to never did an alignment (well, neither have I) but on the SHO, you're only adjusting the toe. She said there is a little bit there you can adjust the camber... hmmmm. I'm just reiterating what they said. IMO, there's nothing there to adjust! Anyways Bob, let me know how the camber looks when you get yours aligned.

Edit: I called H&R again since I didn't believe the first person I talked to. This person said there is minimal affect on the camber and shouldn't be an issue. It all depends on how much of an angle the strut is from the perpendicular. If that is known, and you are dropping it 1.4", you can calculate how much change in the camber it theoretically will make.

My alignment is within spec. I have the printout. Bob, give me a call. Haven't been back to Livernois, going on Friday. They were waiting for a software upgrade that they have now. I'll ask some more questions and try to have some answers for you guys

How do these struts bolt up on the new SHO? 2 bolts at the knuckle? 1 pinch bolt? Are you sure it doesn't have eccentrics in the lower control arm? take some pics! I'm very familiar with alignments (did nothing but alignments for over 4 years) and doubt there isn't anything but a toe setting on the car.

Darreli, just because everything looks "within" spec doesn't mean that specs aren't modified to make them look within tolerance. Also, a lot of guys whack the alignment heads after compensating them to alter readings (generally because they're worthless, lazy, idiots) and end up doing very little to your car other than setting your toe (which is what mostly kills your tires) on the car.

PS - I'll look it up on our Hunter alignment machine and see if they illustrate any adjustments

That would be great to get some hands-on info on the camber. Of course, when you speak to someone at H&R, they're going to say, hey, no problem. Bob hasn't had his aligned yet, so I'm hoping he gets some specifics on what the camber looks like post install. As I mentioned before, the strut probably isn't off plum by much so lowering it by 1.4" shouldn't affect the camber too much... theoretically!

I am going to take the struts back off. I well take some pictures and see if there is anything. I thing the struts are bottoming out all so due to the 1 1./2 drop.

One of the EcoBoost Flex posters had the Eibach springs installed. Said it took 7 hrs and there were difficulties getting rear aligned, but the shop was finally successful. Ford manual shows 5 hrs for spring change on Flex plus alignment. Assume SHO would be similar. I wanted to do it, but alignment issues scare me, since this is our long distance cruiser.

So how are you guys doing that have installed these? My wife got a SHO (Perf Pkg) and I'm looking to lower it so she can see better out of the rear window. Plus the looks too lol. Already got a Tune in it but it needs springs bad.

Sorry to bump this too.

I love the springs! I think the car actually rides better with them over the factory.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything Posi, but how is lowering the rear of the car going to make it easier to view out the back window??
