For the past week or so, I have noticed that at any given moment while driving (going through the gears, not actually during a shift), I feel a sudden but faint JOLT, almost feeling like a mechanic failure of some sort. It results in a sudden and complete loss of power to the wheels but immediately returns to normal operating conditions.

Known problems with suspension:
I do know that the passenger inner tie rod has been showing some play as of late. Control arms may also need changing sooner or later.

Another thing to note: Occasionally while driving and abruptly letting off the gas, it feels as if something (can't think of the right word to explain this correctly) but DROPS. This feeling is similar to when my sister's motor mounts on her 91 Taurus SLO went, but the feeling occurred as you stepped ON the gas initially, not OFF the gas...

Initial Assumptions:
Motor Mount?
Transmission Mount / Bracket?

Past Maintenance:
60k was done less than 30k ago, which included: new spark plugs and plug wires, CPS, VCGs, oil plug well seals, IMGs, and water pump

Any suggestions on what this problem might be would be greatly appreciated! :thumb:

Sounds similar to when my CPS was going out, initally it would just stop sending a signal for 1 or 2 seconds at a time resulting in a intermittent loss of power.
As time went on (about a month) the loss of power got longer 1-5 minutes...10+minutes...20 minutes...etc. I noticed that the cps was getting up to normal operating temperature and failing, once the car cooled down a bit the car started up just fine but once it warmed up it would die again, until finally it went out all together.

probably not your problem, but something to think about.:thumb:

Crank Position Sensor, especially if only when hot

Thanks for the reply Zak. I went through the experience of a failed CPS in the Summer of '06 with this SHO, and this definitely does not feel the same. Also, when the CPS failed then, the SHO died completely while on the highway after I just got up to 65mph. After the $80 tow to the garage, of course it started right back up. :bonk:
