I personally think it looks horrible, and would look even worse on a SHO. I don't think you will get a lot of positive opinions for that spoiler on this forum.

But if you like it, then go for it.

Is this a joke?A wing was not invented for looks. It puts downforce to the rear of a car to increase traction at high speeds.A wing like that not only is counter productive, but actually slows the car due to added weight. Also, this has never been discussed, but i`d like to know how a generic wing, not specifically designed for a specific make/model of car affects the high speed handling characteristics. This is something that may even be noticable at highways speeds.Anyone have any input?

A lower slung, painted to match, aluminum wing might not look that bad. Like one with only 2" center suupports. I think those overly expressive wings look like crap.

But seriously, mod your car for you, not others. You wouldn't believe how much shit I catch for my 5" tach. But you don't see me taking it off. And don't mind all the negative remarks you will get for your ideas. Some people like to speak there opinion, and some seem to verbally attack.

I actually know someone with a 2001 Prelude who put a wing like that on his car and when he was doing a highspeed run on the highway at night it created enough downforce on the rearend to lift the front up enough that he got a REAL BIG SCARE. They're only semi-useful on a rear wheel drive car if you like to drive around a lot at 100+mph and, like Jeremy said, unless it's designed specifically for whatever car it is to be applied to it's probably more useful as a picnic table than an aerodynamic assist.

i agree with what ure sayin that they were invented for downforce and not for looks, however, they r really becoming a dress up item these days. while a lot of cars have functional wings, a lot of them r for looks too. dont get me wrong, i cant stand a little civic with a 12inch wing or anything but my dads 02 Grand Prix has a wing and i cant imagine it does anything useful. i think it looks better with it than without it. i have looked at the same wing that we r commenting on for my old 95 sable i had rimmed up and slammed. i think depending on the attitude and the over all look u want it could look good or bad. like most people r sayin, mod it for ure likes not other peoples, if u like it, do it. all my friends got mad at me when i sold my 89 titanium and kept my white 91 with orange stripes but its what i like. it looks aggressive and can hold its own unlike most cheap imports that may look aggressive. i kinda like the wing and it may look good on the car. if no one ever tries it and posts pics, no one will ever know.

It's not the weight of the wing that will affect the car's performance envelope, it's the significant air drag that will cut a big chunk of mph from the top speed of the car. The increased drag at normal highway speeds will probably be visible in reduced fuel mileage. As the speeds increase, the drag and lever arm provided by the long supports will place a large tortional stress on the mounting points. You will see reshaping (denting) of the trunk from this device. The thought of making a change that decreases performance for the sake of appearance is not within the realm of a real driver's wishes. It may provide some unneeded downforce. It will definitely slow you down and label you as a wannabe ricer. Your choice.

It will look best if you also add some high-HP decals, a fart pipe, some neons and 12" wide wheels. Maybe have some flames painted on too.

Physics aside, I think those spoilers are the ugliest things I've ever seen. The SHO was a sharp looking car coming off the assembly line, and there's very few things that can be done to it cosmetically that won't quickly make it look like a ghetto Honda.

Just as I tell people to do this to me when I get older and senile: If I put a wing like this on ANY car of mine, please take me into the woods, put a gun to my head and pull the trigger.
