Windowclip

Does anyone know why there would be a splice on a window switch wire?
This one was on the driver side door window switch. On the peach and blue (i think) wire. There was another one on the passenger side which i removed because i thought it was the reason my window wont go up. The splice isn't connected to anything on either side, driver or passenger.

My brother calls it a saddleback connector. If that makes a difference

It's called a scotch lock. I don't know why it would be attached to that wire. I used scotch locks for adding the express down module to all four windows, but that takes way more than one connector.

Are you the original owner? If not, the PO may have had an alarm or remote start that had the auto-windows-open feature. I know a couple of people that have had that option with their remote starters.

No I'm the second owner. And thats really all i can think of it being. I just don't understand why anything installed would be removed. aftermarket alarms are so tricky to remove that i didn't figure it'd be worth removing. Alright, i guess it shouldn't help or hurt anything if i take it out

Just make sure you wrap each of those wires with electrical tape after you remove them. If they're the clips I'm thinking of, they cut into the insulation of the wire to make contact. While it's only a very small slit in the insulation, I'd still wrap it to prevent a short. I usually zip tie the wire around the tape too, just to make sure the tape doesn't come loose over time.
