I heard that some people wanted to see the speedhut gauges at night. I just created my sig pic for this forum, so I thought that I would share. This is the first set they ever made for the SHO(my cluster was used for the R&D). However, the pic is so small that any changes for production probably won't be obvious in this tiny shot. BTW, I painted the needles orange to match my autometer ultra lite gauges and to make the needle more visible during the day.

If you have any questions, shoot me a line.

thanks
Ian

I would trust myself more than I would trust a shop. If you have ever used a screw driver and a pair of wire cutters, it is pretty easy to do. I believe that the production kits come with instructions.

And if are interested in buying them... I am running a group buy on the Speed Hut gauges. When I get twenty buyers the group buy will provide a 12% discount and upgraded inverter. We need a few more buyers.

You can customize you gauges anyway you like, the 12% will deducted off the final price.

peep this for more pix. My gauges are silver although they don't really appear to be in the pic. The last pic is terrible quality, but its all I really have with all of my gauges at night.

Hey
I removed the needles and scraped the orginal paint off. I then used orange hobby paint to paint the underside of the needles only. Do not paint the tops or else they will no illuminate.

I'm thinking on it .....

One question. If i remove the needles does it screw up the function of them. Like will the gas needle be off ??? Or is it a "set" way of installing them back on ???

Speedhut claims that these can be installed without removing the needles. I didn't feel like contorting the gauges for hours, so I removed the needles. The gas gauge is easy to calibrate; go to the gas station and fill the car up. Put needle at the Full mark. Temp gauge; let the car sit overnight and put the needles on the cold mark. The stock temp gauge is worthless anyway; I don't really care what it says anymore since i have my autometer gauges. Tach, I put the needle back on when it was warm and idling. I forget exactly what its supposed to idle at; 1700rpm? Make sure its accurate my nailing the throttle and making sure you hear the secondaries open at 4K. As far as the speedo (this is the cool part), it was off to begin with since I had the 50 series profile tires. Now it is even more accurate. I drove around town with a list of engine speeds, their correpondence with mph and what gear they were recorded in. After about 20 minutes, I had this zeroed in perfectly. It sounds like a PITA and it kind of was, but it was worth it in the end.

Of course, you can always try to install them without removing the needles.

I would be interested in joining the group buy if it is still on and if the gauges are available in KM/H. Let me know...
