Hello everyone! First I want to introduce myself and my car.
My name is Will I'm from Wisconsin.
I just bought myself a Dark Green/Black (Cloth + Leather) '93 ATX SHO that has been sitting for about 3 years, with 80k miles on it. I'll post pictures of the condition i got it in and how it looks after i did basic cleaning on it. Like most SHO's it has tranny problems but that is not my question here.

I'm having problems installing my Pioneer deck.
The previous owner cut the plug for the speakers (8 wires) but i was able to get the power working perfectly.

Does anyone know what color wires go to what speakers? I found the plug in the car but its too short to hook it back up. I tried testing the different wires one by one while playing a CD at medium volume, with no luck.

I'm also having a hard time getting into the trunk to see if it has a factory amp. (key and inside lever don't work.. anyone know if i can get to the trunk through the back seat?)

Doesnt it say LF speaker + or something on each wire? Mine told me if the wire was front or back, left or right, positive or negative. As far as getting in the trunk, the bottom of the back seat pushes back a little then pops out. Then there are two bolts to remove the back part of it.

Do the wires you are referring to look like they are bundled into a grey data cable?

If so, those are not speaker wires.

Run your OWN wires from the head unit to each speaker....and start saving for new speakers.

The JBL speakers have some strange OHM value and the amplifier(mounted in trunk) has built in crossovers...I think...

Aside from the difficulty of fixing your wiring to use those stock amps with the aftermarket head unit...I think you will blow up the speakers in short order if you can even hook them up through the regular harness.

Here's what to expect:
$20 for speaker wire
An afternoon ripping the seats and carpet out(and figureing how to get the wire into the doors).

You can also get complete wiring diagrams on just about everything on these cars on this forum. Just look at the stickys in the regular electronics section. I got the speaker wiring diagram there that makes it easy to identify which wire goes to what.

I wired the harness that was left in the car and went to best buy and wired up the radio today. Reception thru the (broken) electric antenna sucks at the moment thank gosh that I have a cd changer :)
