Speaker sizes

What size are the stock speakers in these cars? I would like to upgrade them very soon, but I don't want to have to change the factory look and location. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

They are 6 x 8 speakers front and rear. However, the fronts have a remote mounted tweeter in the door up near the window. The setup I went with and personally love is Infiinty Perfects for the rear and the component system for the fronts. The only mod you have to do is cut some foam out of the door pannel to fit the crossover.

all I saw on infinity's website were the kappas and another model, I didn't see the ones you were talking about, but I have heard kappas in the past and they are very nice. Does the factory head unit sound good with upgraded speakers and an amp or would I have to run an alternate EQ?

I think 5x7 and 6x8 speakers are the same, it's just the mounting rings they ship with them to get them to fit. I sure thought the speaker size was 5x7 and not 6x8.

Yeah, I went to the website and couldnt find them either. *shrug* My guess is they stopped making them because of the rediculous price. Anyways, Im running mine with the fatory amp and radio controls and it sounds just fine except for when you turn it up to ear piercing levels. I also spliced a JBL powervalve sub amp into the speaker outputs for some additional thump. And yes, the kappas sound really good as well.

5x7 and 6x8 = same frame size. They'll both fit in the same size hole, which is good, because then you're not limited to Pioneer for a factory fit.
